Phil's Driving School was opened in November of 2011 by Phil and Sharon Wilson. Although we are a newer driving school, we are not new to driver education training. Phil and Sharon had been employed at another Green Bay driving school from 2005-2011. Sharon as a secretary and Phil as a classroom and driving instructor.
It was our intent to buy that driving school and when those plans fell through, we had some tough decisions to make. Starting a new school in today's economy was a scary thought. But, a difference in teaching styles made it very uncomfortable and difficult to continue where we were.
Phil truly enjoys teaching and connecting with his students. That could be why he quickly became the most popular and requested instructor. His students say that he is easy to learn from because he is so understanding and patient. Phil sees any driving error as a tool for teaching. Mistakes are OK, we learn from mistakes. All of Phil's students know that he respects each and every one of them and would never yell or be disrespectful to them. Instead, he is able to put them at ease. They are comfortable with him and that creates a perfect learning environment.
It was with much encouragement and help from Phil's students that we decided to open our own driving school. A very big Thank-you to all of you who were there to help us get started. There are too many of you to name but you know who you are. You're the best! This was the best decision we ever made.
**We can't say that we have been in the Driver Education business 40 years, but when you are choosing a driving school one thing you should ask is how much experience do the driving instructors have? If the answer is 4-5 months then you will not be getting an experienced instructor.**
Phil has a very good reputation for customer satisfaction. Word of mouth is our best advertisement. When choosing a driving school, ask other students at your high school if they know Phil. We're confident they'll say "Yes, go to Phil's Driving School".
